Oh, the Beautiful Carolinas! We have mountains, beaches and beautiful landscapes in between. Located in the foothills of North Carolina, just about an hour north of Charlotte, is a 1,500-acre ridgeline also known as the eastern-most outcropping of the Brushy Mountains.
In 1915, the property was established as an apple orchard. Over 60 years the orchard grew to 125 acres. Due to economic changes over the years, the property eventually became unused agriculturally and changed hands. Fast forward, the property has found another life as a private estate including a 10-acre orchard and 30-acre grape vineyard, already producing award winning wines with its first vintage. The high elevation property sitting at 1640 feet elevation is an ideal location for grapevines. Grapevines like a view; the elevation promotes better air and soil drainage.
While purchasing fruit from this site in 2018, two North Carolina winemakers saw the superior quality of the grapes coming from the vineyard. With insight and entrepreneurial spirit, they with the landowner launched Dynamis Estate Wines in 2018. A newly renovated historic building opened its doors to the public for tastings by reservation on June 1, 2022. Guests are offered a boutique Napa-style tasting experience of Dynamis’ first vintage of 2019 Bordeaux inspired wines.
Visitors are taken back by the beauty of the property. After their 2.5-mile drive to the top of the ridgeline to the tasting lodge, guests are greeted by a wine ambassador eager to share the story. Here
we have the opportunity to share the rich history of the property, while guests taste what is the new livelihood of the mountain. In a short time, Dynamis Estate wines have been recognized both nationally
and internationally, winning 2 gold medals In the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
